Some of the things I'll like to try
Here are some things that I'll like to learn and have a go at:
1. Sew my own clothes and make my own shoes
Sometimes I get so fed up with the clothes and fashion nowadays, I often wish I could sew.
Being fashion-awkward, I haven't found a really favourite shop to shop for clothes yet and I'm still experimenting for this aspect. Shoes is also another problem, working shoes in particular. Sweaty feet and bad fits are driving me nuts!
2. Dabble in Pottery
I'm fascinated with pottery for some reason. It looks pretty fun to me and I used to buy those pre-packed white paster stuff to play around. Would be nice to play around with clay, and learn how to make something out of it.
3. Further my Photography skills
I stopped honing my photography skills in secondary 3 or 4, mainly because I was too busy with school work and partly because my camera got spoiled (I should have repaired it). Right now, I got myself a 2nd-hand Nikon D40 which is not bad and occasionally I use it to take some photos. I think I may start a photography blog later on to show some of photographs, after all I've taken so many and just archived them. >.<
Photography still remains one of my passions, despite me not spending much time on it. Something I would like to develop my skills more in the future.
4. Learn to play the Piano/Guitar
I was very interested in learning to play the piano when I was young. I had a small electronic keyboard that ran on batteries and I loved plonking away on it. It's a small regret that I did not pursue this interest due to other factors i.e. schoolwork and cost. My father taught me how to play the guitar a tiny bit, but I did not continue as my hands were small and it hurt trying to reached all the strings. Should have asked my father to get a smaller guitar that fit me, I suppose.
5. Write a Novel
This is something that I really want to try. I wanted to be a journalist or writer in the past due to my love of literature and somehow things didn't go that way. But now, there are websites like Lulu.com that I can try publishing my book when I do write one (I have an idea, now it's just to write it...which is hard to find the time).

Scott Pilgrim and Chuck Norris
Hanged out with my friends yesterday. It was a sort of Xmas gathering and we had a blast!
We finally watched Scott Pilgrim and felt it was a pretty good movie.
Based on the comic book, the movie starts off with Scott Pilgrim, who plays in a band had his heart broken by his ex-girlfriend, and ends up dating a high-schooler. He later on meets the girl of his dreams, Ramona Flowers and decides to pursue. However, there is one big problem, he has to fight seven evil exes of Ramona before he can date her.
Scott Pilgrim has a sort of typical love story of two people who meet each other, trying forget or leave their past behind and finding it hard to do so (they both have many exes :x). But it is presented like a game. Scott Pilgrim can kick-ass and earn points (coins!) in the game after every fight like an arcade game. The action scenes were very exciting and I like the part where Scott Pilgrim pulls out a Katana from his heart. Hilarious!
Perhaps the reason why it was not shown in Singapore was like my friend described the movie like another movie, "Dude, where's my car?". It is in a genre, for this case, the Gamer/Geek culture. You either get it, like it or you don't.
But for me, I love it. It extremely fun to watch and we all had a good laugh.
Later on, we continued our movie marathon with Logan's War, starring Chuck Norris.
This movie is about a young boy, Logan, who has a sixth sense: He can sense danger. Despite this ability, however, his family still ended up being killed by the mob, leaving him as the sole survivor. His uncle, Chuck Norris, takes him in and trains him with Martial Arts and as an Army Ranger. Logan later on infiltrated the mob and finally fights them, avenging his family.
What I like best about the movie - The Action! The storyline was good, and the action is SUPERB! The main highlight was Chuck Norris DROPKICKING into the windshield of a car at the end of the movie!
Action movie fans should watch his movie. I highly recommend it. :D

Minecraft

| Penny Arcade - Mine All Mine, Part One |
I haven't played it yet, mostly because it'll be a game that I'll get stuck to, just like in the Penny Arcade comic above, and I'll be so sad not to have more time to play it (gotta work, sigh). So far, my friends been raving about it, the fancy houses they have built, the huge caverns to explore and the zombies that comes out at night. Yes! There are zombies in this game.
Minecraft is about placing blocks while not being eaten by zombies. You can create wooden blocks, mine for coal and other resources to create a safe fort or house to live in while you explore the Minecraft world you are at. The zombies come out at night. so you better not get lost and head home before the night falls, or you will be eaten! Mwahaha!
If you like sandbox games, do visit http://www.minecraft.net/ and check it out. There's a really cool video of this huge rollercoaster built in Minecraft.
I just might get it for Christmas, when I have more time to play. =D

I Gotta Feeling...
I'm not a fan of Black Eyed Peas, but I like their song, "I Gotta Feeling".
I've been hearing it in shopping malls, and somehow it got stuck in my head, especially the part "Tonight's gonna be a good night, tonight's gonna be a good good night".

Your Personality Type
Are you introverted or extroverted?
Do you like to talk a lot or keep silent?
Are you a socially awkward or a social butterfly?
These are some traits that make up your personality type.
I took a personality type test in school and found out that I'm a INTP.
Finding out your personality type can give you more insights to your behavior, your strengths and weaknesses.
I've recently joined a forum, called the personalitycafe.com. It is a gathering place for people to hold discussions about their personality type, and as a communication major, I find it extremely fascinating.
To find out your personality type, you can go to http://www.mypersonality.info/ and take the personality test.
Remember to let me know what personality type you belong to after that. :)

Hello World :)
Hi Everyone,
I'm Christycat and this is the first post for this blog.
This blog is titled "The Experimental Brew" because it will be a platform for posting a wide variety of articles and topics, for example, games, music, movies and online articles. Apart from that, you may see some paid blog entries here. Yes, this is one of my other experiments that I will be trying out. After seeing so many ads and articles about making money from the Internet, I have decided to try it out and find out for myself.
Stay tuned for more posts to come!
